52:52 Motivational Monday

Twenty years from now you will be disappointed by the things you didn't do
than by the ones you did do, So throw off the bowlines, sail away from the safe harbor.
Catch the trade winds in your sails. Dream. Discover.
-Mark Twain

Be kind whenever possible.  It is always possible.
-Dalai Lama

Santa is kind whenever possible.

This kiddo believes in Santa.  He was just pleased to sit with Santa and tell him his Christmas wishes.

This kiddo did not think Santa was so kind. :-)

Wishing all of you a wonderful Christmas filled with kindness, peace, love, and happiness!

50:52 Motivational Monday

We are not rich by what we possess but rather by what we can do without.
-Immanuel Kent

To be honest I have no idea what this quote might mean.
So, instead of pondering for hours I decided to post a picture that I feel makes me a rich lady!
My Boys.  I love them.  They make my heart full.
When my heart is full, I feel rich.
Rich with love, contentedness, happiness.

Your own problems disappear when you devote your attention to the problems of others.
-Unknown

A lot of times problems don't seem so large, when you get out and enjoy God's creation.

These are a few recent photos from our weekend in Salt Lake City.  We spent a few hours at the Great Salt Lake.  It is a beautiful place!

It is not the length of life, but depth of life.
-Ralph Waldo Emerson

Our annual christmas tree hunt up in the Flattops wilderness area.
The fresh air, snow and quality family time are all what increase depth in our lives.

47:52 Motivational Monday

Always remember to fall asleep with a dream and wake with a purpose.
-Unknown

I love watching my boys sleep.
The calm and quiet around them, calms me.
Their little lips just poofed out perfectly.
Their light snoring.
Everything.
I know they will wake with a purpose and the calm that was there, may disappear. Or may not.

46:52 Motivational Monday

The most important things in life aren't things.
-Quoted in bulletin of The First Christian Church in Fairfield, Illinois

A pretty important part of life, are those good buddies.
These two boys have a pretty special friendship.
 I love watching them together.
They are comfortable hanging out like this.  Each doing their own thing and b.s.ing while they do.  They will hang out mere inches apart, and not be bothered by it.
They aren't  too "old" to swap back scratches or flat out have a good laugh!
They enjoy each other for who they are.

Maaret is next in the circle.

There is nothing worse than being a doer with nothing to do.
-Elizabeth Layton

When there isn't a whole lot going on,
you may have to pick up a book and read every once in a while.

Sometimes that is torture, but this time it was okay.
He discovered a new Author. :)

Think big thoughts but relish small pleasures.
-H. Jackson Brown, Jr.

Clarke was watching his brother drive my car back and forth, and possibly thinking about the day he could jump in and drive around?  All while enjoying his ice-cream sundae from McCrackys.

I'm wondering if, Dawson thought this slide was going to be a whole lot longer than he was thinking?! :-)

This kiddo was thinking he could swing so high he would maybe touch the sky.

This old merry-go-round is a small pleasure for my boys.  It's old school!  And they love it!

My boy, who is the thinker in our family.  A lot of times you find him silently pondering life around him.

A sense of curiosity is nature's original school of education.
-Smiley Blanton

My sense of curiosity brings us to many parts of Colorado!  My boys have every Friday off, and we try use this day to explore.  On this particular exploration, we went to a spot just a few miles away.  A spot I have never been to in my 15 years of living in Colorado.  A gorgeous canyon area tucked back in the hills!

If a person didn't have curiosity, would they miss out on beauty all around them?

When out and about my boys have all kinds of fun exploring!

They found this tree along the path.  They poked at it and discovered it was water logged and super easy to chisel.  We stopped for quite some time and they had fun carving!

Boys natures= curiosity.

Our curiosity got the best of us while walking along the trail.  We noticed rock climbers on the cliff walls, and stopped to watch.

Take your work seriously but yourself lightly.

A ship should not ride on a single anchor, nor life on a single hope.
-Epictetus

I had no idea what to put for this quote. :-)
So...
Instead of stressing, I decided to give you a little taste of our fall we've been having here in CO.
I love Fall!
It is my favorite season.
The smells. The color. The weather.
My only thing... I wish it lasted a while longer!

I'm hoping my circle of friends figured out this quote better than I did. :-)

There is a great difference between knowing a thing and understanding it.
-Charles Kettering and T.A. Boyd

I know my boys know, that I love them.  I don't think they understand the depth of that love.  They probably won't understand it, until they have children of their own.

There is no pillow so soft as clear conscience.
-French Proverb

When I read this quote, my thoughts went instantly to a certain age child.
I have a lot of nieces and nephews in this age range.
The age where they have now idea what sin is.
They live in simple childlike faith.
They don't even know what a conscience is.

Their eyes are pure innocence.

They reflect a clear conscience.

A happy carefree person is one with a clear conscience.

 Maaret is next.

38:52 Motivational Monday

The older you get, the more important it is to not act your age.
-Asleigh Brilliant

First things first....
I do not consider the people in these pictures to be old.
Ok...
I'm not sure what you have to "act" like at each particular age?
All I know is that I like how these three "older" people act at their particular ages. :-)

And my boys like how they act at their particular ages too!

This is a great picture (photo credit to Clarke)  of Anna and I probably not acting our age.
Who cares.
We were having fun.
